There are not many other places in the world where you can enjoy year round sailing …
A quick look at the Dragon International racing schedule shows that at the end of the Régates Royales most Dragonists from northern Europe bring their boats back home and stop sailing until next spring, perphaps even having a long drive early in the spring to Spain or Portugal to start their next season. That is why the Yacht Club de Cannes, home of the very active and rapidly growing Mediterranean Dragon fleet, is proposing to you a winter racing program that would be held from November through to April. As you certainly know, Cannes in wintertime is a very attractive destination for you and your family. Climate in this period is usually very sunny and quite mild. Keep in mind that Cannes originally became famous as a winter resort, thanks to Lord Brougham in the 19th century, who used to spend all his winters there! Nowadays, direct flights from most major European cities to Nice Côte d’Azur airport make it so easy to come for a week-end. Quite a few foreign Dragonists have already decided to join us during this coming winter. This means that you can expect to have 20 to 30 dragons on the starting line.

We have been working on how to organize your stay, and you will have the choice between the following options:
1- Your boat will be kept outside (with the mast on) at the Mourré-Rouge parking, which is a small harbour 800 metres from the Yacht Club de Cannes. Boats can be towed around to the Yacht Club (with their mast on). Craning at the yacht Club would be free of charge. You can also choose to have the job (driving, washing, craning etc…) done by a private company – Concept Boat. The monthly cost of parking at the Mourré-rouge will be 48 Euros, payable to the Cannes Municipal Authority who owns the parking. Boats will have to be insured by the owners for staying at that parking.
2- Concept Boat is also proposing a full service. That means that your boat will be kept outside in a secure place, under their responsability. They can bring your boat to the Yacht Club, put the mast on, clean and crane her etc… At the end of the race, they will wash the boat, put the mast down and drive it back to the yard. This will be charged 315 Euros for one way, 630 Euros for both ways. Parking at the yard will cost 77 Euros monthly. All prices are VAT excluded. Concept boat is a boat maintenance company, and are currently specializing in Dragons. They are able to provide you with all your Dragon needs.
